Moving Rapidly - The DART Rapid Transit Corridor Study
The Greater Des Moines Area is continually growing, making an effective
and convenient public transit system more important today
than ever before. In order to meet the needs of the community at-large, the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is conducting a Rapid Transit Corridor Study that will identify and evaluate rapid-transit corridors (including Bus Rapid Transit and Commuter Rail) to meet Greater Des Moines' increased need for public transportation.
Throughout the course of the study, a number of committees
will form to offer input and oversee the details and progress.
Advisory committees, composed of members of neighborhood
groups and civic organizations, will ensure that citizens' views are
represented in the study.
Additionally, members of the community will have multiple
opportunities to share their thoughts, comments and suggestions
at public meetings to be held during the course of the study.
The public will also have the opportunity to address questions
and concerns with the project team at these meetings. Public input is critical to the success of this study, and community
participation is strongly encouraged and appreciated.
